Annual Summer Book Sale

Last Call for Bargain Books: Friends of NMPL Host Final Sale Before 2-Year Pause

The countdown is on! The Friends of the New Milford Public Library are hosting their Annual Summer Book Sale—and it’s more than just a seasonal tradition. Due to upcoming library construction, this will be the last book sale for at least two years, making it a unique opportunity for readers of all ages to fill their shelves before a long hiatus.

The sale runs at New Milford High School with the following schedule:

  • Thursday, July 11: Early Bird Hour from 9–10 a.m. ($5 admission), then free entry from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday, July 12: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 13: Final day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—with all books half price!

Featuring thousands of gently used books across every genre—fiction, nonfiction, children’s, cookbooks, and more—this event is ideal for building a personal library, finding summer reads, or grabbing gifts. With no sales planned until the library reopens, the Friends’ advice is simple but urgent: “Think ahead and STOCK up!!”
